This page sums up the terms of use and the terms of sale, which are the ones that apply (and their French version prevails). Version of 21 October 2026.
Getting started
Sign up free
Anyone aged 15 or over can open an account; we check the email address first. Under 15, a parent's permission is needed.
Your account is yours
Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. Owners and admins decide who sees each project, and with which role.
21 days free, no card
Every new email address starts, once, with 21 days of Solo. Nothing is charged when they end: without a subscription your account becomes Free. One project stays editable (you choose it if you have several); the others become read-only, nothing is lost, everything stays downloadable.
Paying
Simple prices
Free: one project, you and one more designer. Solo €9 a month. Studio €20 a month with 3 designers, then €9 per extra designer. Reviewers and observers take no Studio seat; yearly, two months are free. Excl. VAT.
Cancel whenever you like
From your account or by email. It stops at the end of the paid month or year, then your account becomes Free: one project stays editable, the others become read-only. A new price is announced 30 days ahead; if you are an individual, it applies only once you accept it, otherwise the plan simply ends.
14 days to change your mind
Within 14 days of subscribing you can withdraw, without giving a reason, from your plan page. You pay only for the days used; the rest is refunded.
Your work
Your fonts stay yours
We use them only to run the service, and never to train AI. Our font charter explains our commitments; the terms of use, the terms of sale and the DPA are the ones that bind us.
Hosted in Paris, backed up every night
Servers in Paris, an encrypted backup every night in another EU country, encrypted connections. We do our best; keep a copy of your important projects anyway.
Leaving is easy
Download everything in open formats at any time. Once you delete a project or close your account, it leaves the service, and our backups within 30 days. A Free account nobody signs in to for 12 months may be deleted, after an email 30 days before.
Personal data
Explained in the privacy policy. For the people an organization, a school or a foundry invites, we act as its processor, under our data processing agreement.
The rules
Play fair
No unlawful content, no trying to get into other people's projects, no overloading the service, no training AI on other people's fonts without their permission. Report unlawful content to info@uplustype.com.
Who is liable for what
Individuals keep all their legal rights. For businesses, our liability is limited to what you paid over the last 12 months, except for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Open source stays open
Fontra and the Fontra Hive plug-in are free software under the GPL v3. These terms never limit the rights the GPL gives you.
Changes, 30 days ahead
Any significant change to these terms is emailed to you 30 days before it applies. If you disagree, you can cancel free of charge.
