- Start with 21 days of Solo, no card asked; without a subscription your account then becomes Free. Nothing is lost.
- Free keeps one project editable; the others stay viewable, commentable and downloadable, and editable again as soon as you subscribe.
- The designer you add to your Free project draws without paying, on that project only.
- Solo counts everywhere: in your projects, in those of other Solo accounts that give you a designer role, and in organizations, without taking a seat.
- A Studio seat counts in its organization; elsewhere, its holder is Free.
- Reviewers and observers never pay.

On a Free project, one designer besides you draws for free. Invite your client, art director or teacher as reviewer or observer: if they have no Hive account yet, they get a Free account of their own.

A free account, for ever. You get one project of your own, on which you and one more designer draw, with one reviewer and one observer, and every feature. Elsewhere you see and comment on the projects you are invited to, and draw in an organization where you have a seat.
Nothing is charged: no card is asked for the trial. Without a subscription your account becomes Free. If you have one project, it stays editable; if you have several, you choose the one you keep editing, and the others become read-only. Nothing is lost: everything stays viewable and downloadable, and editable again as soon as you subscribe.
Yes, on that project. Their other projects follow their own plan.
Your Free project stays the same while you are on Free. To start another one, delete it for good, move it into an organization, or subscribe to Solo.
No. On one project, Free is enough: you and one more designer. With more projects, two Solo accounts draw together on each other's projects. Studio adds an organization that owns the team's projects, with 3 seats included for people who have no Solo plan.
The free trial is your account's. An organization starts with Studio; you can move your own projects into it.
Yes. The subscription stops at the end of the paid month or year, and your account becomes Free: you keep one project editable, the others become read-only.
No. Every project is a complete .fontra package in git; download it any time as .fontra, Designspace + UFO, or compiled fonts.
On servers in Paris, with an encrypted backup every night in another EU country. Your fonts stay yours: we never use them for anything but the service, and never to train AI. Read our font confidentiality charter.
The new seat is charged pro rata for the rest of the period. You see the amount before you confirm, and the seat opens once paid. Removing a seat takes effect at renewal.
Each account or organization has 5 GB of projects, fonts and history included: plenty for most teams. If you need more, we talk it over; nothing is ever blocked or deleted for it.
Most of our customers are studios and foundries. The VAT of your country is added at checkout; EU businesses with a VAT number pay no VAT (reverse charge).
Yes: by subscribing to Solo, or by taking a seat in a Studio organization, where the seat counts. Their roles on your projects stay as they are.
Fontra stays free and open source. Fontra Hive adds hosting, accounts, history, branches and review for teams, and its plug-in is open source too.
